Terms of Service

Booking a move with JF Moving Services means agreeing to the terms below. We’ve kept them short on purpose — if something here doesn’t make sense, ask Kekoa before you book.

Quotes and pricing

Local moves are quoted as a written flat rate based on the rooms, access, and services you describe at booking. Long-distance and inter-island shipments are quoted the same way, built around the barge or container booking we make on your behalf. If the scope of the job changes materially on move day, more items, added stops, a different address, the rate is adjusted and confirmed with you before we continue.

Deposits and cancellations

Jobs that require scheduling ahead, barge slots, container bookings, or a reserved crew date, take an $85 deposit that comes off your final bill. Cancel or reschedule with as much notice as you can; barge and container cutoffs run on a fixed schedule, so late changes on those bookings may not be reschedulable to the original date.

What we’re responsible for

Every shipment we handle carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage. Report loss or damage as soon as you notice it, and in writing within the window federal rules allow. Items packed by the customer rather than our crew carry more limited coverage — ask Kekoa for the specifics before move day if you’re doing your own packing.

Storage terms

Short-term storage on our premises is held for the pickup date agreed to in writing at booking. We’ll contact you before that date to confirm delivery; storage arrangements that run past the agreed date need a new written agreement, not an open-ended hold.

We may update this page as our services change. The version posted here at the time you book is the one that applies to your move.
