Below are the questions Kekoa and Ikaika field most on the phone. If yours isn’t here, call (808) 447-2915 and someone in the office, not a script, will answer it.

Is JF Moving Services a licensed and insured moving company?
Yes — JF Moving Services is a fully licensed and insured local mover based in Honolulu, HI. We run our own trucks and crew on every job, with Hawaii PUC household-goods certificate and US DOT/MC authority on file.
How much does a move in Honolulu cost?
Local moves run $145 an hour for two movers and a truck, or $200 an hour for three, with the minimum explained up front. We give you a written flat rate before we start based on your rooms and access, not a range that changes once the truck is loaded.
How does booking a barge or container shipment work?
Kekoa checks your move date against the Young Brothers barge schedule or the Matson and Pasha container sailing calendar and books the slot before we pack a single box. You get the booking confirmation and transit window in writing the same day.
Do you offer storage if my new place isn't ready?
Yes. We hold your things in short-term storage on our own premises between a closing date or a sailing that's still days out, and the same crew that picked up your load delivers it when the date lines up. You get a written pickup date, not an open-ended hold.
Can you move a piano or a gun safe?
Yes. Uprights and baby grands move on proper piano boards starting at $295, and Bronson personally signs off on every piano and gun-safe job before the straps come off, including tight stairwell turns in older Honolulu walk-ups.
What areas do you serve?
All of Honolulu and the rest of Oahu, including Kailua, Kaneohe, Pearl City, Aiea, Waipahu, Mililani, Kapolei, Hawaii Kai, Waimanalo, and Wahiawa, plus inter-island shipments to Maui, the Big Island, Kauai, and Molokai and mainland shipments by container.
What kind of insurance coverage do I get?
Every shipment carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage, and we have the paperwork ready for any building, HOA, or leasing office that asks for a certificate of insurance before move day.
What if I need to cancel or move my date?
Call as soon as you know. Barge and container cutoffs run on a fixed sailing schedule, so the earlier we hear about a date change, the easier it is to rebook. Local move dates are flexible with a phone call, and the $85 deposit comes off your final bill either way.
Who actually handles my belongings once they leave my house?
The same crew, start to finish. Nothing changes hands to a subcontractor or sits unmarked in someone else's warehouse — the movers who pack your kitchen are the ones who load the truck, and for inter-island or mainland jobs, the ones who walk the shipment onto the barge or container we booked.
Do you charge extra for stairs, elevators, or long carries?
Elevator reservations and loading-dock windows are handled as part of the quote, not billed as a surprise. Kekoa asks about stairs, elevators, and parking access up front so the flat rate on your written quote already accounts for it.

Where We Don’t Bend

Six Rules Every Honolulu Move Follows

Every one of these is a working rule, not marketing copy. Jason and the crew hold to them on jobs across Oahu, from a Kailua bungalow to a new build in Kapolei.

One Crew, Start To Finish

Whoever Kekoa books you with is who shows up. H-1 rush hour or a tight turn on a narrow Kalihi side street doesn’t change who’s carrying your boxes.

Hawaii PUC Registered, Fully Insured

Our Hawaii PUC household-goods permit stays current year-round with US DOT and MC authority on file, up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage rides with every load, and a certificate of insurance reaches a Honolulu condo board or a property manager’s office the same day they ask for one.

Our Payroll, Not A Staffing Agency

Every mover on your truck draws a paycheck from us directly. Bronson has run the same crew for nearly a decade, and we don’t pad the roster with day labor just because the calendar fills up around a barge cutoff.

The Written Number Doesn’t Move

The figure Kekoa puts in writing is the figure you pay once the truck is empty, with nothing carved out after the fact. An H-1 backup, a long carry up a walk-up in Chinatown, a wait for a loading-dock window at a high-rise: that’s ours to absorb, never yours.

Bronson’s Crew, Not A Rotating Cast

The crew you’re quoted at booking is the crew that shows up on move day. Nobody gets pulled off your job partway through to patch a hole somewhere else on the board.

A Time Window That Actually Holds

If the job ahead of yours runs long, that’s Ikaika’s problem to solve from the dispatch board, not yours. You’ll hear from us before it eats into your window, and we make it right if it costs you real time.

The Honolulu crew that never lets your things out of our custody until they're on the barge or container we booked — one written flat rate, tracked door to door.
